"As the benefits of the Volunteer Minister Program begin to spread throughout the society, a rank and file of people that have been helped will begin to accumulate. These people will begin to feed into the missions and Churches of Scientology® from wherever the Volunteer Minister has been at work." LRH, HCO PL 22 February 91, VOLUNTEER MINISTERS

VMs around the world want to share their successful actions in helping their communities. Here are the first tips on finding good locations. The VM Cavalcade is one of the most successful and important grassroots campaigns ever. It is LRH's solution to reversing the dwindling spiral of our society by bringing one-on-one help to every individual on the planet.

Today, the VM campaign is restoring purpose, truth and spiritual values across the globe, and thereby building a better world. It starts by having a great location with a massive volume of people! We have provided the following tips from successful VM teams on how to choose and obtain high-profile locations. 1) Key factors to consider in choosing a perfect location are: a) Can people find it? Is the location known? (Such as "Times Square," in New York City.) b) Is there high body traffic? 2) Name all places of high body traffic in your city and neighboring areas. Examples are: markets large town squares malls, shopping centers crowded parks business areas (week days) beaches walking streets museum areas busy downtown areas weekend "getaway" spots theatre districts and anywhere else that people gather.

3) Extend your list to find areas you didn't know of or did not think of by surveying your staff and public. 4) Look through newspapers and the Internet regularly to see what big events are happening (some places to look are: Chamber of Commerce and even other nearby cities).

5) Expand your sphere of responsibility. Your zone of control extends all the way to that of the next Scientology® org. So reach out beyond the borders of your city, province or state and introduce Scientology to millions! 6) Find out from your missions, city offices and field groups (including charter committees, field auditors, etc.) all the places people gather in their cities or towns and have them arrange the VM Cavalcade in their areas. Have their VMs add to the power of the VM Cavalcade.

7) Continue to keep your eyes open for BIG events in your area. There are a number of large community events occurring all the time - marathons, city or state fairs, local community celebrations for specific ethnics, etc. Boston set up in a city square during the Boston Marathon and got over a thousand people through their tent in one day.

Toronto, Canada put out comm lines to churches of other religions and the VMs were invited to be a part of a vigil attended by thousands in the center of the city. It was so successful the different churches requested the VMs tour their communities with the tent! 8) When you choose your locations, note what days of the week and at what times people are there. The main point is choosing locations with lots of people. Then get the agreement well in advance of your opening and promote like mad, applying the Non-Existence formula for that location and providing the community with its needs and wants - LRH tech. "Making hundreds of thousands of Volunteer Ministers who go out into the world and tend to the needs of people as they find them is the purpose of this program. It will make the world a far, far better place." - LRH

SUCCESSES FROM PEOPLE HELPED BY VMs "I was shaking and crying and couldn?t function, and she did a 'Sight Assist' I think it was called. And by the time she was done I felt great. I didn't know exactly what she was doing in the beginning, but it worked!" - C.S. "My life and the lives of my students changed forever after I read 'The Technology of Study' chapter of The Scientology® Handbook. It had the answers to the sleeping children and out-of-control kids in my classes. Now they're busy learning and loving every minute of it." - C.K.

"The Volunteer Ministers helped me today. The conditions really made sense and I feel that they can benefit me in life. I have decided that I want to be a Volunteer Minister as a result of my visit today." - V.L. "He didn't ask why. He didn't walk away. He came right to me and just asked me what was wrong. There was something bothering me. And it was that, that made all the difference in the world, that someone cared and was willing to give me solutions." - N.Y.

VM SUCCESSES "It was great to be back on the front lines. The people I helped were blown out to say the least, from the PTS handling on the workman with a bad back, to the Book One session on the boy whose dad died and had recent trouble with a girl, to the Islamic religious leader who wanted to know why he felt attracted to LRH's tech. I would do this all day, every day!" - N.N.P.

"I ran into a man who was on the verge of grief and I asked him what was wrong. He told me he was about to get fired, again, and that he didn?t know how he was going to support his wife and two small children. While talking with him I learned he was having trouble running a machine at his work, and that was why he was being fired. "Something he said reminded me of a section in The Scientology Handbook booklet, so I asked him if he had studied the manual for the machine at his work. He said he'd started reading it, but didn't finish. At that moment I knew what to do. I arranged to meet him at his job, and using the methods from the booklet, I located the exact reason he was flubbing on the machine. When we found it, he lit up like a Christmas tree and was sure he would never have a problem with the machine again. "A few weeks later he called me up. Not only did he salvage his job, but he was now the in-charge of his whole unit - running an entire team of people on the machine he was now an 'expert' on!" - M.A. Send your photos, videos, wins and successes to
